Major, a manufacturer of wire screening media, unveiled a new crown curve calculation and updated crown adaptors.

According to the company, this addition allows customers to accomplish greater performance from the company’s tensioned Flex-Mat high-vibration wire screens and other screen media products on screen decks originally designed for modular panels. A proper curve on the screen deck allows producers to tension the screen media correctly, which can improve performance and wear life, according to Major.

The crown curve update comes as a response to both dealer and end user feedback regarding the depth of the curve and its impact on material flow. According to Major, the crown curve adaptors allow producers to adjust a flat vibrating screen deck for use with tensioned screen media without the added cost or time of a deck conversion.

The screen media is applicable for aggregate, mining and industrial producers, Major says.

“We are dedicated to our customers’ screen performance and profitability, which is why we are continually making improvements to our screen media products,” says Lars Bräunling, director of product technology at Major. “These crown curve updates will help maximize the screening capabilities of our innovative Flex-Mat high vibration wire screens and contribute to a low cost per ton for our customers.”
