Brunner & Lay straight hole drilling tools were developed to enhance the ability of modern, high-powered rock drills operating in both surface and underground applications.

According to Brunner & Lay, which is exhibiting in Central Hall (Booth C31819) at ConExpo-Con/Agg, its tools are designed to produce the precise blastholes needed for production at modern mine and quarry sites.

A number of factors influence the precision of blastholes, Brunner & Lay says, including, but not limited to, rock properties, the drilling method/type, drill setup, operator training and drilling tool selection.

Many modern drills utilize sophisticated and ever-evolving monitoring systems, which continue to improve drilling precision, Brunner & Lay adds. Tool selection, along with a properly outfitted drill rig, can produce hole deviation of less than 2 percent.

Brunner & Lay is now offering a variety of straight hole drilling tools in the form of guide rods, guide/pilot tubes and shoulder-driven drill tubes to meet an array of applications. Utilization of this system, along with the proper bit design for the rock type, can produce significant improvements in an operation’s bottom line, the company says.
