Utilizing the power of AI, the Reno8 Pro 5G is capable of capturing super-clear images even in low-light environments while smartly compensating for any necessary adjustments such as exposure, color balance, and more. And yes, both standard photo shooting and video recording are granted this post-processing capability that results in high-quality 4K Ultra Night and Ultra HDR videos.

For the front camera, it uses a much higher-tier Sony IMX709 flagship sensor at 32MP that carries the Auto Focus feature to help users take selfies more easily, and in general, the image quality is much better thanks to 60% more light captured and hardware-level augmentation improving video dynamic range and brightness balance.

Not only is the camera a big deal for the Reno8 Pro 5G, but the entire design can be considered quite an overhaul for the Reno series as OPPO applied a streamlined unibody design philosophy to it.

First off, the way the back cover can look this unique and shiny is thanks to a creative process of adopting an 800°C hot forging process with 120kg of high pressure towards the material to then be finished up with hand polishing the graphite mode via 3 diamond sheets of different roughness level and 8 different nanometer-scale polishing process.

As such, the camera bump is so smooth and elegantly curved to the point as it wouldn’t be considered a bump at all for some people. The signature Prominent Binocular Camera Module with ring flash also adds a touch of quirky yet stylish layout exclusive to the device.

By the way, the 7.34mm thickness makes the Reno8 Pro 5G the thinnest Reno in history, and 183g of weight makes it nice to see and nice to hold with 2 colors of Glazed Green and Glazed Black, show off your style in stealth and attract some eye attention with the reflective black cover.

OPPO’s signature SuperVOOC fast charge technology also got improved for the Reno8 Pro 5G as the wattage is further bumped from last gen’s 65W to 80W so you spend less time getting the device hooked up to a brick and more time using it.

As a result, despite having the battery capacity staying the same at 4500mAh, the Reno8 Pro 5G can get itself up and running at full power in less than half an hour when charged from around 18% capacity.

The device also gets recognized by TÜV Rheinland’s Safe Fast-Charge System certification for its reliable charging protocol and stability with testing showing that a 5-minute quick charge can provide enough juice for 2 hours of consecutive gaming.

The improvement of the screen is also one of the major factors here as it is now a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that is way bigger than the last generation and it comes with a 120Hz refresh rate that provides slick animation and transition as you scroll through your SNS endlessly.

OPPO also gave it a not-yet-seen-before 1,000Hz touch sampling rate dedicated to League of Legends: Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile to capture inputs at an incredible responsive interval so that even one that does not rock a conventional gaming smartphone can still come out ahead in competitive online multiplayer titles.

Under the hood of the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX SoC in which it is known to perform way more efficiently through its higher performance-per-watt ratio and relatively lower thermal output when compared to other chipsets in the market.

Therefore, it is great for gaming in general, and for the very first time, PUBG Mobile is officially adding 90Hz Mode support for a Reno class smartphone. All the better for fellow chicken dinner and MOBA gamers around the world!

But OPPO is leveraging that issue with the Multi-Screen Connect feature made for its ColorOS ecosystem by mirroring the Reno8 Pro 5G’s screen directly onto the OPPO Pad Air, enabling smart interaction across different creative scenarios.
