Warzone devs respond to parachute bug making Operators fly further than others - Charlie INTEL

Warzone players have discovered that some Operators can fly much further than others, and the devs have responded to the bug.

It was recently discovered that some Warzone Operators still had the old parachuting mechanics that prevent them from flying further, so here are the best Operators to use to fly further and the devs’ response to the bug.

With Warzone allowing players to pull their parachute only feet from the ground, there are plenty of opportunities to pull off some nifty flanks. Players in the know used to use a technique called ‘sideways gliding,’ which would allow your Operator to glide much further.

Sideways gliding was seemingly patched out at the start of Season 2, where you’d no longer need to sideways glide to travel long distances. However, not every Operator received the fix, and you still need to sideways glide while using them.

Warzone devs Raven Software have acknowledged the issue. For the time being, here are the Operators you should use to glide further in Warzone Pacific Season 2.

Reddit user ‘hn6’ appears to have discovered the bug, revealing that “some operators parachute further than others.”

They explained that Operators who received the Season 2 change and no longer need to sideways glide will travel towards the ground at 6.6 speed (you can see this on the right side of your screen). However, Operators that fly at 10.4 will hit the ground much faster and have to sideways glide to slow down and fly further.

YouTuber JGOD tested the Reddit user’s claim and found the same issue, saying that it “looks like some operators have the older gliding system.”

Tested this Reddit Post Claims. Looks like some operators have the older gliding system. VG Operators work properly, but CW and MW Operators are inconsistent. If you glide forward and it says 10.4 SPEED, it is the old way, it should say 6.6 SPEED. @RavenSoftware https://t.co/5QaYstmVvm pic.twitter.com/gi7sDLqSFm

Plus, JGOD discovered that Operators that have the new gliding system can pull their chute much closer to the ground.

❗️ We are aware of an issue where certain Operators are unaffected by the Season 2 parachute speed improvements. We are actively working on a fix, thanks for the reports! Trello:https://t.co/tYyjTlaCcZ

Raven Software confirmed they’re aware of the issue with certain Operators being unaffected by the Season 2 parachute speed improvements, announcing on March 17 that they have created a Trello card addressing the issue:

The Trello card is marked as ‘investigating’ on ‘all platforms,’ but there’s no predicted date for the fix so keep an eye out for additional updates.

Thanks to testing done by both the Reddit user and JGOD, you should stick to Vanguard Operators if you want to fly further. All Vanguard Operators use the new gliding system, so they don’t need to sideways glide.

It gets more tricky when it comes to Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War Operators, as they’re much more inconsistent. hn6 has done a little bit of testing and found a few Operators that work, and a few that don’t.

While this issue is on Raven Software’s radar, there’s no guarantee of when it will be fixed, perhaps in the mid-Season 2 or Season 3 updates.

A new March 25 update for Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded has nerfed the Juggernaut spawn rates and brought changes to Rebirth Island.

Call of Duty Warzone’s devs have decided to make some tweaks to Pacific Season 2 Reloaded after player complaints about the frequency of Juggernaut spawn rates and damage reduction during spawn protection.

After the Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded update brought loads of new content, such as Rebirth Reinforced and the Keycard system, it’s no surprise that the devs have been tweaking things after players have been able to get their hands on the content.

We first saw this with the Armaguerra nerf, as it seems the new SMG came in slightly too strong. Now, this March 25 update looks to conquer issues with Rebirth Island.

The March 25 update for Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded is a small one but aims to improve the experience on Rebirth Island, which received a big makeover in the update.

After complaints about the frequency of Juggernaut spawns on Rebirth Island, the devs have decided to “reduce the chances” of the Public Event across Rebirth Island.

Further, they also decided to make some other small changes to Rebirth Island, including reducing the damage reduction of Spawn Protection and Gas Canister spawns across Rebirth Island.

That’s all for this March 25 update for Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded. Although it’s small, hopefully, this will improve the player experience.

A Warzone dev has promised that RICOCHET anti-cheat is going to improve over time to combat new cheats that could arise.

In a call with Warzone expert Tyler ‘TeeP’ Polchow, Warzone dev Josh Bridge stated that RICOCHET anti-cheat will keep getting better moving forward.

On March 23, Warzone veteran TeeP spoke with dev Josh Bridge as the two discussed the current state of Warzone and future plans for the battle royale. The pair touched on several significant topics that have garnered the community’s interest including map rotations and a Ranked Play mode.

They also took time to address the current performance of RICOCHET anti-cheat as well as the longevity of the cheat preventing software.

Since RICOCHET’s global launch back on December 15, 2021, Warzone players have had their doubts about the software. While there’s no denying that RICOCHET has created interesting ways to nerf and eliminate cheaters, some players still question the efficiency of the anti-cheat.

TeeP kicked off the topic by stating that his personal experiences with cheaters in Caldera compared to Verdansk are far fewer. While there’s no way to eliminate 100% of cheaters, Josh Bridge confirmed that the anti-cheat was designed to improve over time.

The fine details behind RICOCHET’s functionality remain a secret for good reason, but it’s interesting to note how Bridge talks of RICOCHET as an adaptable type of technology that will improve at eliminating cheaters over time.

For starters, he says that the dev team is “overall happy” with RICOCHET so far and that having a “team dedicated, always there with technology software monitoring and going after cheaters” has made the world of a difference in terms of efficiency.

He briefly explains the process of countering new cheats that may arise “we find new ways as cheaters are finding a different sort of loophole or a hack and we plug it up and we move forward.”

If we view RICOCHET as technology that can be improved to combat new hacks then there’s no doubt that the anti-cheat’s efficiency will reach new levels as Bridge promises, “It’s going to keep growing and get better and better.”

Here are the best landing spots for both wins and high kill games in Warzone’s updated Rebirth Island Reinforced map.

Rebirth Island has been completely overhauled in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded. Rebirth Island Reinforced offers both new and updated POIs, so here are the best landing spots for both wins and high-kill games.

Rebirth Island quickly became a fan-favorite Warzone experience, offering a much faster pace than both Verdansk and Caldera. To keep the map fresh, Raven Software and Beenox have given Rebirth Island a complete overhaul, bringing the new Stronghold POI and updating other fan-favorite locations.

After you’re done exploring the new Rebirth Island, you’ll want to choose your landing spot to secure either wins or high-kill games. We’re detailing the best landing spots in Rebirth Island Reinforced, and why you should consider landing there in Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded.

Stronghold is brand-new to Warzone’s Rebirth Island Reinforced, being an overhauled version of the Security Area. If you can land here and win the initial fight, you’ll be set up to win the game.

The only issue you could have is that the circle pulls away from you, but it’s nowhere near as open as the Security Area was. Plus, you can be particularly annoying if you hold this area, as players will be heading your way with their keycards in hand. Killing them will allow you to take either the keycard or the loot, giving you a huge advantage.

Like anywhere on Rebirth Island, the Chemical Engineering POI will see a few players land there. But it’s an incredibly easy spot to hold, and you’ll get a good view of the map around you. If you go up onto the roof, you’ll have a great view of the Docks and Bioweapons Labs.

You’ll find the circle often pulls to Chemical Engineering, and the Buy Station out the back is usually safe from a sniper’s prying eye. You might not break your kill record while holding Chemical Engineering, but you’ll be holding an extremely powerful position on the map.

The Headquarters POI remains after the Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update, and it’s still a hot drop. Whichever team wins Headquarters has almost full control over the map, being able to look down on players at Living Quarters and Nova 6 Factory, and they also have a quick rotation into Prison Block where they can clear it out and hold the roof.

Plus, players can pick up the Vikhor keycard by entering the Red Room found underground. Bringing it to the Stronghold POI will allow you to get a free Loadout Drop, so it might be worth your time.

Rebirth Island’s Control Center has long been one of the map’s busiest landing spots, and you can get a ton of kills off the rip.

If the Buy Station is outside of the building then you know it’ll be especially busy. Most players tend to land on the roof and take the fight straight away, but if you can land in one of the windows then you’ll have a couple of seconds to loot up and control the top floor.

From here, you can either run up the hill to Headquarters and Factory or have a relatively safe rotation to Docks and Decon Zone.

If you prefer Warzone’s large-scale battle royale, you can also check out the best landing spots in Caldera.
