West Michigan fans of the 'Nutcracker' are used to the Holiday tradition of heading to downtown Grand Rapids and seeing the Grand Rapids' Ballet perform the Tchaikovksy classic, but this year you'll also be able to check out the 'Nutcracker' in a new light.

It's been announced that the critically acclaimed Hip Hop Nutcracker will be making its way to West Michigan for a Thanksgiving weekend performance at DeVos Performace Hall in Grand Rapids.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker will be hold their only Michigan performace of 2022 on Sunday November 27th at DeVos Perfromace Hall in downtown Grand Rapids. Showtime is set for 7pm.

Tickets are on-sale now at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets start at $35 for balcony seats and go up to $125 for Orchestra seating.

Created in 2013 by director/choreographer Jennifer Weber and writer Mike Fitelson, The Hip Hop Nutcracker pays homage to the original ballet, retold through the modern the gaze of Hip Hop culture and dance. According to Hip Hop pioneer Kurtis Blow, who is featured in the touring production, he is proud to be part of the long running and groundbreaking show:

I love taking this show on the road each year and creating lifelong memories for our audiences. And to be celebrating our 10th season this year is such a big accomplishment for the show.
