Germany-based Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has opened a new service centre in Peru to improve the supply chain of mining equipment and parts across South America and improve customer service.
The service centre, in La Joya, in the province of Arequipa, takes the company's total to six. It will offer repairs, maintenance and overhauls of significant mining equipment components.

The company aims to provide "customised programmes for the storage parts and strategic supplies, training plans and personalised technical assistance."
Paulo Alvarenga, ThyssenKrupp's chief executive officer, said the company allocated a large part of the latest investment in "the most advanced technology," which is aimed at "maximising the life cycle of our clients' assets.
Jorge Luis Lazio Cornejo, general manager of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions in Peru, said the new service centre would improve customer service.
"Modern technologies and facilities, in addition to a fully qualified team, which will be supported by our global service centres, will allow us to be at the forefront of solutions for mining and other markets that require high complexity and quality services," Cornejo said.
